This beloved homegrown idea, recognized for its playful “fun-dining” expertise, has traded its dhow for a major spot on Palm Jumeirah’s Shoreline 10. Since 2011, Aprons & Hammers has been making waves with its dedication to recent catches and a laid-back environment.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is trendy and coastal, with calming blues and whites that complement its beachfront location. Diners can select between pergola seating, poolside lounging, or sunbeds with views of the Arabian Gulf and the Burj Al Arab.

The highlights

As soon as seated on the poolside lounger, we indulged in a frosty delight – a vibrant concoction of zesty bitters and tangy lemon cordial, all encased in a playful ice bomb. After a refreshing swim, we continued our meal outdoor, starting with scrumptious appetisers.

The Salt and Pepper Squid, completely golden and crisp, revealed tender squid inside, enhanced by a tangy tartar sauce. Then got here the juicy Firecracker Prawns coated in a fiery chilli sriracha sauce that delivered a satisfying kick with each chunk. The spotlight was the Octopus Carpaccio, that includes delicate, melt-in-your-mouth slices of octopus adorned with citrusy lemon zest and pink peppercorns.

Feeling refreshed, we moved indoors for the primary course, welcomed by the cool air-con. The Lobster Thermidor arrived with succulent chunks of Canadian lobster in a wealthy, buttery sauce, topped with cheese, whereas the thin-crust Truffle pizza featured creamy mozzarella, buffalo mozzarella, and aromatic truffle. For seafood lovers, the Blended Bucket is a dream, providing shrimp, candy Blue crab, and succulent Spiny lobster, enhanced by an array of sauces together with saffron cream and garlic chilli sauce.

We in fact couldn’t resist dessert, choosing the Banana Foster Crème Brûlée, that includes creamy vanilla custard, tender banana slices cooked in wealthy brown butter sauce, and completely caramelised sugar crust. My eating associate selected the comforting and indulgent Signature Hammertime Cake, a dense chocolate brownie base stuffed with creamy coconut, topped with a liquid vanilla ice cream bar you can crack open with a hammer – a pleasant distinction of chilly in opposition to the nice and cozy, wealthy cake.
